An H-E-B supermarket will be opening in west Fort Worth on May 10th!
The closest H-E-B in Tarrant County is in Burleson off of Texas 174.
The new location will be in Hudson Oaks in west Fort Worth close to the Interstate 20/U.S. 180 split.
The San Antonio-based supermarket has been in negotiations with Hudson Oaks, a small suburb between Aledo and Weatherford, and it's finally happening.
"We kept reading press stories, opnion pieces and social media posts downplaying the possibility ... and due to the legal nature and sensitivity of the negotiations, we just had to keep our mouths shut and smile," says Mayor Marc Povero in an online letter.
H-E-B has bought other property around the Tarrant County area but will open it's second store in Hudson Oaks.
Another store is scheduled to open in Mansfield off of U.S. 287 and East Broad Street in 2020.
